Grow liquid sunshine in a tray — wheatgrass juice from seed to shot in under ten days.

Beginner-friendly and high-yielding: one 25×50 cm tray produces roughly 600–700 g of dense, harvestable grass in 7–10 days — just keep moisture steady and airflow consistent.
One of the fastest crops in the grower's toolkit: seeds swell overnight, sprout within 2–3 days, and reach juicing height before most other microgreens have even left blackout.
Rich in chlorophyll, vitamins A, C, E and K, plus iron, magnesium and potassium — a cold-pressed shot delivers a concentrated hit of plant nutrients in under 30 ml.
The classic juicing green: cold-press at 7–9 days for a sweet, grassy shot with a clean, almost meadow-like aroma — blend into smoothies, mix with apple or ginger juice, or drink straight as a morning ritual.

    ABOUT

Wheatgrass is the young shoot of Triticum aestivum harvested before the plant joints — a fleeting window when chlorophyll, antioxidant enzymes and vitamin C peak simultaneously, making timing everything. When you cut a tray at day 7 or 8, the blades are a vivid, almost electric green with sturdy white bases, and the freshly pressed juice carries a sweetly grassy, clean scent that instantly fills the room. A 30 ml cold-pressed shot stirred into apple, cucumber or ginger juice transforms a morning routine into something genuinely nourishing — no powders, no additives, just live plant juice. With seeds that sprout reliably in 2–3 days and a harvest window that arrives before most other crops have hit the light, this is one of the most rewarding and repeatable grows you can start this week.

    GROWING INSTRUCTIONS
1 Soak 200 g of wheatgrass seed in cool, unchlorinated water for 8–12 hours — you'll notice the kernels visibly plumping up as they drink. Drain thoroughly and rinse once with fresh water; waterlogged seeds are the number one cause of mold, so shake out every last drop.
2 Fill your 25×50 cm tray with 3–4 cm of quality potting soil or coco coir and firm the surface gently — wheatgrass loves good seed-to-medium contact. Spread the drained, pre-soaked seeds in a single dense, even layer across the whole surface; they should touch but not pile up.
3 Mist the seeds lightly, then place an empty tray on top and weigh it down with something flat and heavy — a book, a brick, anything that presses the seeds firmly into the medium. This is the secret to even, upright sprouting: the resistance makes the shoots grow strong from day one.
4 Keep the stacked tray in a warm spot (18–20 °C) for 3–4 days. Peek underneath from day 2 — you'll see pale yellow-white radicals pushing into the soil, and by day 3 the first green tips will be straining upward toward the light. Resist the urge to unstack too early.
5 Once the shoots are 2–3 cm tall and clearly reaching upward, unstack and move the tray into bright indirect light or under a grow lamp. Begin bottom-watering: pour water into a tray beneath (pH 6.0–6.5), let the medium absorb for 20–30 minutes, then drain. Do this once a day — never let the medium sit soggy.
6 Watch the blades fill out from pale to vivid green over the next few days as chlorophyll production ramps up — this colour change is your signal that nutrients are peaking. Maintain steady airflow around the tray to prevent any humidity build-up between the blades.
7 Harvest at 7–10 days, when the grass is 15–20 cm tall and before any second blade ('jointing') appears. Cut just above the root mat with clean scissors, cold-press immediately, and consume the juice within 10–15 minutes for maximum enzyme and chlorophyll benefit. Your tray can sometimes yield a smaller second cutting, though the first is always the richest.
